This policy explains what happens to the email address you give us when you sign up for early access to FlowFuel. In plain terms: we collect your email only to send you occasional updates about the FlowFuel product. Our website and form providers also record some basic technical information, explained below. We don't sell your data, and you can ask us to delete your email at any time.
01 Who we are
FlowFuel is an early-stage product concept. The person responsible for your data (the "data controller") is Alexander Holmes, trading as FlowFuel, based in Chorley, England.
You can contact us any time at flowfuelbusiness@outlook.com.
ICO registration number: C2054197.
02 What we collect
Only your email address, and only when you choose to enter it in the sign-up form. We don't ask for your name, and we don't ask you for anything else.
When you visit the site or submit the form, our hosting and form providers (see section 04) may also automatically record standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the date and time of your visit or submission. They use this to deliver the website, keep it secure and prevent spam. We do not use it to identify, profile or track you.
If you choose Accept on our cookie banner, Google Analytics also collects information about how you use the site, such as the pages you view, your browser and device type, your approximate location (worked out from your IP address) and how you found the site. It does not collect your name or email address. See our Cookie Policy for details.
03 Why we collect it — and our legal basis
We use your email for one purpose: to send you occasional updates about the FlowFuel product, such as news about the trial batch and when the product is ready.
If you accept analytics cookies, we also use the information Google Analytics collects to understand how the site is used and to improve it. Our legal basis for this is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page.
Our legal basis under UK GDPR is your consent, which you give by entering your email and submitting the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see "Your rights" below), and every email we send will include a way to unsubscribe.
04 Who it's shared with
We use trusted third-party services to run the site and hold sign-ups. They act as our "data processors" and only handle your data on our instructions:
- Formspree — receives and stores sign-ups from the form, and may process technical information such as your IP address to deliver the form and prevent spam.
- Netlify — hosts the website, and keeps standard server logs that can include IP addresses, to run and secure the service.
- Google (Google Analytics) — only if you press Accept on the cookie banner. Google processes information about how you use the site on our behalf. We have also switched on two optional Google data-sharing settings: one lets Google use aggregated, de-identified measurement data to produce business insights, and the other gives Google access to information about how we use our Analytics account. Google decides how it uses that information, under its own terms. We do not collect your name or email address through Google Analytics, so neither is shared. See our Cookie Policy for detail.
We do not sell or rent your email address to anyone, and we don't use it for advertising.
05 Where your data is held
Some of these providers (such as Formspree, Netlify and Google) are based outside the UK, including the United States. Where your data is transferred internationally, it's protected by appropriate safeguards as required by UK data protection law.
06 How long we keep it
We keep your email only for as long as we need it for the launch, and no longer than 24 months from your sign-up unless you ask us to remove it sooner. If the FlowFuel concept is discontinued, we'll delete the list. Analytics data is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically.
07 Cookies & tracking
By default this site sets no cookies. If you press Accept on the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics, which sets analytics cookies on your device. If you press Reject, or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set and nothing is sent to Google.
Your choice is remembered in your browser for 12 months, and you can change it at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer. Full details of each cookie are in our Cookie Policy.
The site's fonts and code are served directly from this website rather than from outside companies. Apart from Google Analytics (only if you accept), the only time your browser contacts another company is when you submit the sign-up form, which sends it to Formspree. The standard server logs described above are not used for advertising or profiling, and no advertising or profiling takes place.
08 Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us to:
- tell you what data we hold about you (access);
- correct it if it's wrong;
- delete it (erasure);
- stop using it, or withdraw your consent.
To do any of these, just email flowfuelbusiness@outlook.com and we'll sort it out. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
09 Changes to this policy
As FlowFuel grows, this policy may change. When it does, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
